January was great...February not so much. The flu took me down hard and I missed 3 weeks of lifting which deloaded me back to light weights. But David took a few form check videos for me and I am pretty proud of myself for the goals I reached before getting sick. I was also running Hiit 2 to 3 times a week and loved that cranking the treadmill up didn't even phase me "cardiovascularly"....it is my short legs and the fear of flying off the machine that keeps me from cranking it much higher !
I am back at it and March should end with me lifting close to my personal record. I was bummed that I didn't register for the competition in April but now I am glad I didn't! Even with the lower weights my muscles are so worn out from the virus. My quads are hurting so bad, to the point of tears, and its not that good soreness from working out, it is literal pain. It doesn't hurt while lifting, in fact if feels better but abut 3 hours later I am dying. I know if will get better. I just need time to heal after being so sick. I am just happy that I got right back to it and didn't quit. It would have been easy to just be done.
