Holiday Decorating 2015

We got a live tree this year on the coldest day ever! Our fake tree is way to big for the space we have for a tree this year so we got a little one and it is so cute.  Rowan wanted a 3 ft tall tree but I talked him in to one that was a bit bigger~
The Bigs came and helped decorate the tree.  We were missing our Willow but she is having fun in San Francisco~
I think the idea was to get all the ornaments on the small tree that are normally on a tree three times as big~
 The accomplished the task~
And then Rowan put St Nicholas on top~
 He was so proud~
Finished~

Santa Photos are out!  Ready for 2015 to be taken and for more crafts and Holiday cards to be hung~

 Snowflakes~
 Elves and Gnomes~

 Rowan's tiny tree~

All the Stockings this year.  I saw this great idea where you use just a couple of stocking holders to hold a curtain rod and then you can hang lots of stockings.  Why have I not thought of this before? We have a lot of people and animals in this house that all have stockings~

St Nicholas shoes are ready to be filled next week~

Ready for a Magical Holiday~

Nature in the City: Storytime at the Eco Garden

Oh so cold today, So we bundled up and headed to the Eco Garden for a story time with Nature in the City~
So much to discover~

The plants in this garden are all edible and most of the herbs were still in bloom.  Lots to smell and tough~

Rowan does not like the smell of Fennel~

Playing by the river, discovering ducks and building a nest for them~

Reading about shapes in the wild~
And then off to explore and fine shapes in the garden.  He found a square, circle, rectangle, diamond,, triangle, star and oval...couldn't find a hexagon this time~

It's a wonderful life~

Thanksgiving

It was a lazy, relaxed day for us.  Cinnamon rolls for breakfast~
None of us bothered to get out of our PJ's~
David made a delicious meal for us all~ Turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, sausage cranberry stuffing, broccoli casserole,  cranberry sauce, gravy, pumpkin bread and more rolls than you can imagine~

Then we ate, napped, watched movies, played and I got to sit and knit most of the day.  We sure missed our Willow this year! So grateful for all that we have.  I love my little/big family so much~

Happy Thanksgiving!

 Then to see the lions~

The ladies did not want him to come near them~

 They would charge and stalk~

 And then growl

 He left defeated~
It started to snow so we headed into the warm building~

 " a spoon bill" he yells~
