Nature in the City: Stream Exploration

Today we headed to City Creek Canyon to explore the stream with Tracy Aviary's Nature in the City program~
We looked for plants, birds and other living things that live along City Creek~
This kid loves birds.  We got to see the Lazuli Bunting and hear it's call.  They only come here for the summer to have their young and then they all fly South.  There were also many Morning Doves. This is the point where I had to go find a bathroom so no more pictures!  Rowan and David finished up the activity and were able to see mayfly larva, caddis flies, and a type of worm.  They learned that mayflies typically only live and breed in steams that are healthy and clear and there were tons there!
We love Nature in the City! Thank you Tracy Aviary for providing such a cool program.
