Fall Hike to Red Pines and Oktoberfest 2009

On Sunday, David and Willow and I headed up Little Cottonwood Canyon to do the Red Pine trail. There was quite a bit of snow on the upper trail so we didn't make it to the lake. We were really surprised that the aspen's had not changed much so looks like we will be heading back up soon to see the fall colors!

A cute couple coming down gave Willow a walking stick :) She mainly used it to scoop snow and eat.

Willow really wanted to keep all the pine cones we found, but we talked her into a picture instead :)

The view was gorgeous!

Being silly in Daddy's hat :)
On the way back down we noticed this little gut on the white pine trail sign :) Willow was too excited...she wants her birthday to be here now and she knows it is winter (too bad Feb is still 4 months off ;) )

After the hike we drove up to Oktoberfest. We knew we were pushing it not bringing Josh and Mara but it was an impromptu decision and plus they have friends over for sleepovers that don't like hiking. We caught the last couple of hours of it...just enough time for some fun!

Of course, you gotta have beer at Oktoberfest....
Willow wanted to take our picture :)
So, we were walking around trying to pick what to do and Willow decided on the bungee/trampoline thing. Well the line was super long and I was telling her that we would have to wait quite a while when a woman came up and gave us a ticket! We were in the right place at the right time :)
Next year, we will come and stay all day...this Fall has just been so insanely busy!!
