One World Everybody Eats

Well, for those of you that know me, you know that girl scouts is a huge part of my life. I have been leading for going on 7 years now and I love it! Right now I have 6 Junior girl scouts in my troop and we have so much fun!! We have recently taken on volunteering at One World Cafe in downtown Salt Lake. On Sunday's we help in their organic garden. Last week we helped them put out the compost on the beds so they could be tilled. This week we are moving lots of dirt! It is a lot of work but really fun. Bo, the sous chef, has invited us to eat in the cafe after we volunteer. The rules of the cafe are, pay what you can or what you think the meal is worth, if you can't pay, you can work at the cafe but there is always a rice and daal bar for anyone who can't afford to eat and after they close they give anything leftover to the homeless. Everything is made fresh daily and it is so good!! Today, we cleaned up The Jubilee Center which is right next door to the cafe. It feels really good to help people in need and to support such an amazing resturant!
